Rosella (Hibiscus flos) is a tropical flowering plant widely cultivated in Indonesia and other tropical regions, where its calyces are traditionally used as herbal ingredients, natural food coloring, and refreshing beverages.

ORIGIN: Native to Africa, Rosella is now widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions, including Indonesia, where it is grown as a medicinal, food, and ornamental plant.

PLANTING: Thrives in warm tropical climates with adequate sunlight, moderate rainfall, and fertile, well-drained soil. It is commonly propagated using healthy seeds planted directly into the soil and grows well in open areas with sufficient sunlight.

HARVESTING:

  • Timing: Harvested when the calyces have fully developed and become thick, firm, and brightly colored, typically around 3 to 4 months after planting.
