Akar Wangi (Chrysophogon Zizaionide)
Indonesia Standard Quality Grade

Akar Wangi (Chrysopogon zizanioides) is a tropical perennial grass native to South and Southeast Asia and widely cultivated in Indonesia. Its aromatic roots have been traditionally used for essential oil production, herbal preparations, perfumery, and natural products.
ORIGIN:
Native to South and Southeast Asia, Akar Wangi is widely cultivated in Indonesia, particularly in Java. It grows well in tropical highland and lowland areas and is known for its dense, fragrant root system.
PLANTING:
Thrives in warm tropical climates with temperatures of around 20–30°C, adequate rainfall, and a wide range of well-drained soils. It is commonly propagated using slips or young shoots taken from mature plants and planted directly into prepared soil.
HARVESTING:
Timing: The roots are generally harvested after approximately 12–18 months of growth, when the root system has developed sufficiently and contains a high concentration of aromatic compounds.
Method: The soil around the plant is carefully loosened and the entire root system is lifted from the ground. The roots are separated from the leaves and soil, thoroughly washed, and then dried before further processing.
