Indonesia Standard Quality Grade

ORIGIN: Native to the Moluccas, particularly the Banda Islands of Indonesia, pala is widely cultivated in tropical regions with warm, humid climates, sufficient rainfall, and fertile, well-drained soils.
PLANTING: Thrives in warm tropical climates with temperatures around 20–30°C, high humidity, sufficient rainfall, and fertile, loose, well-drained soil. It is commonly propagated from healthy seeds or seedlings and planted in areas with adequate moisture, good drainage, and partial shade during the early growth stage.
HARVESTING:
- Timing: Harvested when the fruits are fully mature and the outer husk naturally splits open, generally around 7–9 years after planting, with productive harvests continuing for many years.
- Method: Mature fruits are carefully harvested by hand when the fruit skin splits open naturally. The fruit is then opened to separate the seed and reddish mace (fuli), which are cleaned, sorted, and dried according to the intended product specification.
